I am really getting to like Elvis Cole and Joe Pike, I am reading these novels in date order. The novels generally start quite jokey and you are never quite sure what the bigger picture is on the case. However, as the chapters unfold the picture becomes clearer. There seems to be a shoot out near the end. That seems to be the formulat of these novels for me.
This one is set in the south of the USA and you can almost taste the soutern Dixie way of life, the swamps, the food and the humidity. Elvis is called in to trace an adopted TV star's real parents. However he soon discovers that the TV star already knows these facts. The story moves on to other bigger issues involving the characters Cole meets.
It was nice to see some love interest for Elvis that remained open at the end of this book, so I will just have to hurry along to the next one!
8/10 for me, I enjoyed this book.
