Book Review: The Body Farm by Patricia Cornwell (Kay Scarpetta 5)

For me Scarpetta is a very efficient person but a bit cold and aloof. She hooks up with Benton Wesley in this novel and they are well matched. Benton is Mr Perfect for me, they suit each other. The relationship between Marino and Scarpetta is much more abrasive and therefore interesting. Her niece Lucy is irritating for me too, much too good to be true and too eccentric as well, she gets injured in this novel.

In this novel Scarpetta assists in the investigation into the murder of a child in North Carolina. The murder has similarities to that of a serial killer who's crimes go way back and he has eluded justice for many years. The name of the Body Farm is a research facility in Tennessee where the answers to the murder of the child are discovered. There are also other clues in the apparent suicide of a local FBI Agent too.

This novel gets a 7/10 from me.
