This is the fifth in the excellent Harry Bosch series by Michael Connelly, published in 1996.The mob appears to have murdered a film producer in LA. The book is called Trunk Music as the trunk of the car is where the body ended up. Bosch follows the leads to Vegas but this gets him into trouble with the department. It also leads him to the love of his life, Eleanor Wish the ex-FBI agent who he helped convict of fraud.
Harry follows the clues to track down the killers and also falls back in love with Eleanor.
